Terms of Use

Last updated: May 8, 2026

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing or using WageTheftMap.us (the "Site"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

2. Informational Only — Not Legal Advice

The Site is informational only and does not constitute legal advice. We are not your lawyer. Reading this Site does not create an attorney-client relationship. Wage-and-hour law is fact-intensive and changes frequently; specific applications depend on facts your employer may dispute.

For advice on your specific situation, consult a licensed employment-law attorney in your state. Where the Site mentions filing a wage claim with a state DOL or with the federal DOL Wage & Hour Division, those are official government processes — we do not file on your behalf.

3. No Warranty

We work hard to keep the data on the Site current — every minimum-wage figure, every statute citation, every state DOL URL is primary-source-verified by our researcher. We have not yet retained a licensed US employment-law attorney; once one is retained, the content will be reviewed by that attorney. But statutes change, state DOL pages move, and our verification can lag. The Site is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Site is free from errors or that it will be available without interruption.

4. "Wage Theft" Framing

Where this Site uses the phrase "wage theft," it refers conditionally to potential statutory violations under federal or state wage-and-hour law — never as an assertion of fact about a named employer. State-bar lawyer-advertising rules in some jurisdictions disallow language asserting facts not yet adjudicated; our editorial discipline is to use the term only conditionally.

5. Affiliate & Lawyer-Match Links

Some outbound links on the Site may direct to third-party referral partners that pay us a fee for qualified referrals. Federal and state government links (DOL Wage & Hour Division, state DOL claim portals) are not affiliate links — those are unconditional recommendations as the standard first-step filing path. Lawyer-referral links are subject to state-bar advertising rules in your jurisdiction.

6. Privacy

See our Privacy Policy for how we handle data. The Final-Paycheck Decoder runs entirely client-side; the inputs you provide (state, separation date, hourly rate, willful-failure indicator) never leave your browser.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither WageTheftMap, Desymphony EOOD, nor any of their officers, employees, or agents shall be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Site, including but not limited to damages for missed filing deadlines, unrecovered wages, or attorney's fees, regardless of legal theory.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be resolved in a court of competent jurisdiction in Delaware.

9. Operator

The Site is operated by Desymphony EOOD, a Bulgarian limited liability company, with informational content directed at workers in the United States. Contact: [email protected].

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance.
